S04E02 – They Shoot Harper’s Don’t They?

Susan tricks Ben into joining a modern Latin dance class, but Ben turns out the better dancer. They both then get Roger, who allegedly dances "like Fred Astaire", to teach them privately so they can enter a competition at the end of the month. Meanwhile, after getting a "B" in a maths test, Michael decides to stop thinking about girls so he can focus on his studies.
  • Episode Summary

    • Roger is asking Susan for her advice about how to date Abi. Michael comes in despondent, he has got a B in maths. Ben comes in and mistakes the B for the flying type. Ben and Michael have a man to man chat about not having too high expectations. Susan decides they should have a hobby, to keep themselves busy when everyone has left home. Ben remarks that that will never happen as Susan keeps inviting more people in to their house. Susan suggests dance classes, Ben finally agrees to go to wine tasting. Susan says she will sign them up. Ben and Susan arrive at the class, Ben starts talking to everyone about wines, and the other pupils think he is an alcoholic. When the teacher asks for a volunteer, Ben puts his hand straight up, then he realises it is a dance class. The teacher tells Ben he is a natural and he has raw talent. She doesn’t say the same to Susan. Ben is very flattered. Ben is so delighted he wants to keep going to the classes. Susan says he is being naïve, it is just that she fancies him! Susan doesn’t want to go back. Ben says she is just jealous because he is better than she is. They agree to see who is the best dancer. Michael has found the answer to his grade slipping. He has been thinking too much about girls. All he has to do is stop thinking about girls. Susan tells Ben the dancing is just for fun and agrees to go back, after all it is not a competition. As she shuts the door she starts to practice. Ben asks Roger to help him learn how to dance the Tango Argentino. As they dance in the surgery, the receptionist comes in. Susan has asked Roger round to teach her the Tango Argentino. He explains that Ben has also asked him to teach him. Susan forces Roger to teach her too. Ben comes back from the dance class gloating, until he finds out Susan has been having lessons with Roger. Ben can’t sleep and Abi finds him at the kitchen table. Robert has an idea, and asks her if she can dance. Susan takes Roger to the dance competition, all is well until Ben, dressed as a Cuban pimp turns up with Abi. Roger now refuses to be Susan’s partner and he wants to dance with Abi. Ben deliberately dances badly with his partner as he can’t bear to live with Susan if he wins. Susan is thrilled and gloats because she won the trophy. Ben tries to explain he let her, but no one seems to care. He tries to prove this by showing them all how well he dances the tango, and they all disappear into the kitchen to eat cake Roger is asking Susan for her advice about how to date Abi.
