-
Episode Summary
- Ben has insulted one of his patients, Jessica, who storms out. Roger enters to inform Ben that their employer Cavitex is using an undercover patient to evaluate customer services skills and that he must be really really nice to her before realising he is too late with the warning. Because of his rudeness,Ben is sent to The Cavitex Academy for a weekend of re-training. Jessica arrives in the lecture room and illustrates the “do’s” and “don’ts” of customer services - the good clips are of Roger and the bad clips are of Ben Then Mr Griffith shows a presentation on the technical element of dentistry, which sends Ben off to sleep. He awakes three hours later having missed the whole presentation. He finds out there will be a test on everything they have learnt and if he fails he will lose his job. But Ben realises that Roger must know all the answers to the test as he has taken it three times already - all he needs now is to practice the teeth whitening procedure and sets up the laser to practise on Roger. The laser hits Roger in the eye and Roger informs Ben the goggles that came with the machine were for him! Consequently, the next day at the test, Roger is temporarily blinded and can’t see the questions, leaving Ben no-one to copy from. Later, Mr Griffith hands out certificates to the dentists who pass the test, Ben isn’t one of them. Unwittingly, Roger gives Ben an idea to pay Mr Griffith off and takes him aside. With the intention of bribing him, they go to Ben’s hotel room where Ben hopes that he and Mr Griffith can come to a gentleman’s agreement – but Mr Griffiths misinterprets the situation and lies on the bed, half-dressed. Janey, Michael & Alfie share a slightly tipsy hug – Ben arrives home, glad that he has kept his job.
