Episode Summary
- Janey is dating a new secret man and Michael tells the family that he has been approached by MI5 regarding working for them, the only problem is the family have to be interviewed! Susan has dressed up for her working lunch with her best client James Garrett whom Ben is a little jealous of - Susan assures him they have a professional business relationship and that’s all, but on getting a call from James begins to flirt and giggle. She heads out to work, telling Ben she will be home late. Ben, thinking Susan has forgotten her bag goes through it and finds a key to a hotel room with a note from James! That evening, he pretends to be the hotel manager to get into James’ room… only to find Janey, not Susan in there! Janey is mad at Ben, but asks him to keep James a secret as Susan is working with him. Ben cracks and tells Susan, but she seems to take the news really well. Susan confides to Ben that she doesn’t understand what someone like James could see in someone like Janey – whereas Ben is pleased that he may gain a rich son-in-law. On her next visit to see James, Susan sees him kissing a blonde lady who has just exited his room. Susan returns home and tells Ben what she has just witnessed – but Janey accuses Susan of being jealous. At the Art Exhibition, Janey confronts James and finds out it was his ex-wife Susan saw him with – this is also explained to Ben. However Susan, not realising Janey has spoken to James and cleared the situation up, decides she can no longer sit back and tells James exactly what she thinks of him before tearing his generous cheque into shreds. Before Ben can explain, James storms off. Susan is comforting Ben, who is not taking Janey’s break-up with James well!
