Episode Summary
- Abi is learning words from the dictionary, she has a job interview with the College Library. Susan is overworked and wants a cleaner. Ben is thrilled when he finds Michael is reading the football results…even if it just because he has a girlfriend who is interested in it. Susan is interviewing for the job of cleaner, Michael answers the door to a gorgeous blond and wants Susan to hire her, but they get off on the wrong foot when Ben comes home and mistakes her for Susan! Ben really doesn’t want this cleaner, until Susan says she is too tired for Sex. Martha is hired. She is perfect! Ben shows off his football skills to Michael and Susan starts to feel very left out because of Martha, who won’t let her do anything, and is better than Susan at everything she does. Now that Susan has hired the cleaner and Ben really likes her she is jealous. Ben decides to watch football with Michael so he can explain a few points, but as usual Michael knows more about it than he does. Susan decides to go on a campaign to make it look like Martha is slipping, in Ben’s eyes. She stole his chocolate off his pillow and he catches her downstairs in the middle of the night throwing dirt around to mess up the house. Susan tells Ben he has to fire Martha. He does it and Martha agrees that Susan is a bit touchy, Ben becomes very upset. Abi doesn’t get the job as she has been practicing for, she is overqualified. The job was for Tea Lady. Susan drops in unexpectedly to the surgery to take Ben to lunch and suspects that Martha has been there, Ben denies it but Roger manages to let the cat out of the bag that Martha has been cleaning there, and also cleaning his surgery upstairs. Susan is delighted to have her house back, Ben comes home and promises he has now fired Martha. Ben is all dressed up to take Michael to the QPR game, but Michael is now after a new girl who is into pottery, he hates the primitive game!
