Episode Summary
- Janey has lost a filling and she wants to go to Ben to fix it. She didn’t realise that Ben had already been away for a week! Michael is receiving mail for a Mr and Mrs Greyling. Susan’s mum Grace has come to stay while Ben is away. Roger is put out that Ben has a new locum, but Abi is infatuated! Janey wants the new locum to do her filling and not Roger. Michael has a scheme and wants Alfie's help. He has sold their address to a family trying to get their son into a local school. Susan has a mother and daughter chat with Janey and finds out that Janey has a new love interest, it is Ben’s new locum Tony Bassett. Tony Bassett's wife arrives on the doorstep to confide in Susan she is worried about him. She thinks he is having one of his affairs again! Susan introduces Janey to Tony’s wife and when she leaves Janey promises she will end it. She had no idea he was a married man. We hear Michael negotiating with Mr Greyling, offering to employ another boy to sit the entrance exam. Susan tries to have a Mother/Son chat with Michael but to no avail and Grace helps herself to Janey’s champagne, a gift from Tony. Janey tried to finish the relationship but fell under Tony’s charm yet again so Susan decides to take matters into her own hands and goes to the surgery to confront him. Michael negotiates a deal with a boy, Russell, who is to take the entrance exam for Oscar Greyling. He proves to be a tough negotiator and gets the better of Michael. Susan fares no better with Tony, he is a complete charmer and Susan falls under his spell too! Tony’s wife arrives to tell Susan she has found out her husband is definitely having an affair and wonders if Susan knows who it is. Tony has moved out this time, the relationship is serious and he wants to start a new life with whoever it is. The headmistress calls Michael to make an arrangement to visit Oscar Greyling and his parents in their home environment. He asks the family to help him by playing the part of the Greyling’s when the headmistress arrives. The interview goes really well until Susan returns and wonders what is going on. Even more flowers and bottles have arrived for Janey from Tony. Susan has a plan to get rid of him. They ask him round for drinks and show him how terrible living with Janey in the family home would be.
